Local Information

Parsonage Farm is nestled half a mile from and within view of the pretty rural villages of Clyffe Pypard and Bushton. With a pub in each village and a very picturesque church in Clyffe Pypard, these features can make for a pleasant sunny afternoon walk. The town of (Royal) Wootton Bassett is in view from the farm and about a 3 mile easy drive.

Walking is a very popular past-time as 3 miles away is the Ridgeway Path which is quite a famous walking path as is the Kennet and Avon tow-path.

Within less than a one hour drive the following places can be reached:

‘The National Arboretum’ at Westonbirt, Malmesbury Abbey House & Gardens - dating from the 12th Century, Lacock Village, Castle Coombe village and race circuit.  Also the stunning historic market towns of Marlborough, Salisbury, Devizes, Tetbury and Cirencester, plus many more, are within easy reach.

Golf enthusiasts can chose from attractive courses at Wootton Bassett, Bowood. Also nearby are the ancient monuments of Avebury, Stonehenge, West Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill as well as Longleat Safari Park and Bristol Zoo.

All the fishing enthusiasts have plenty to keep them occupied too with plenty of lovely spots to sit and fish the day away in the nearby area. Several Fishing Tack shops have opened in the area over recent years also.

A plethora of wonderful dining establishments abound in the area (12 miles). We are very fortunate to have The Three Crowns at Brinkworth, Whatley Manor Hotel and Restaurant, Luckenham Park Hotel, Coles Restaurant in Marlborough, The Flambe in Sutton Benger, and The Angel Hotel in Wootton Bassett, these are a few of our favourites. Taxis can be arranged so that a jolly time can be enjoyed by all. Bowood Hotel, Golf & Country Club also hold an excellent value, set price carvery on the last Sunday of each month in the Kerri Suite - dress code & bookings only (01249 822228 to book).

For those interested in a little pampering we have the services of a very experienced young lady who will visit the cottages. Amy will carry out nail, beauty and spa treatments at most competitive rates. Appointments are very flexible and must be booked in advance so please contact Amy on 07843 309 509.
